Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM)
Founded in 1981 to support, educate and promote professional electrical contractors in the Rocky Mountain region, IECRM needed to find and develop a new facility to accommodate the increasing demand for adult education classes in the electrical contracting industry. A 23,000-square foot one story bowling alley constructed in 1983 was purchased to house the new training facility in Northglenn, Colorado.
Significant building systems expansion and upgrades combined with an entirely new interior was designed to meet their unique educational needs without sacrificing functional qualities of the space.
With a state of the art laboratory for full scale instructional use in teaching students the skills of electrical wiring and equipment installation, the expanded space includes easy access to interstate highways, provides over 200 parking spaces and includes classrooms, training rooms, a lab, a great room and administrative space.
Completed in August 2016, the project was delivered on time and under budget, IECRM is now positioned to the be the top educational institution for the independent electrical contractor in the Rocky Mountain region.
IECRM is a collaborative effort between Greenfield Architects and Kestrel Architecture operating as GKAllc.
